Minnesota AFL-CIO elects first woman president

The Minnesota AFL-CIO on Monday said its general board has elected Shar Knutson to serve as the new president of the 300,000-member union.  Knutson, who has been president of the St. Paul Regional Labor Federation since 1998, will be the Minnesota AFL-CIO’s first woman president.
