House approves government reorganization plan

One of the largest initiatives in Iowa legislative history moved a step closer to enactment when the Iowa House approved 355-page state government reorganization plan without a dissenting vote. …. The bill contains over 50 different ideas, she said, eliminates 14 different boards and commissions, reduces energy costs, increases joint purchasing, reduces middle management to keep frontline workers on the job and consolidates information technology functions.
